Wes has been a podiatrist for over thirty years. Since graduating from W.A.I.T. ( now Curtin University) in 1982, Wes has worked in a wide variety of professional settings including large public teaching hospitals, community health, remote rural and regional centres, the state child development centre and for the last nineteen years, Feet First Podiatry.

Wes has several post graduate qualifications. Most recently he was the first to graduate from U.W.A with a Masters degree in Podiatric Medicine. He has a special interest in paediatric foot health as well as sports and bio-mechanical disorders.

Born and raised in East Fremantle, Wes shares his love of the Swan river and local beaches with his wife Fern, their two children, now grown, and their family dogs.

Kirsty Carmichael

Cert III Fitness   B. Sc. (Honours) Podiatry

Kirsty grew up in Scotland and graduated with Honours from Glasgow Caledonian University. Kirsty’s first professional posting was in a busy Sydney podiatry practice before she was persuaded to move west to be closer to family. Kirsty is a keen photographer. She enjoys our beautiful West Australian beaches, though she’s not too fond of our jellyfish. One day soon Kirsty hopes to have her own wee doggie as she misses Whisky, her family West Highland Terrier back in Scotland.

Kirsty’s clan motto is Tout Jour Prest, which means “Always Ready” and Kirsty’s ready right now to care for your painful ingrown nails and plantar warts. Kirsty is completing a Diploma in Fitness so she is very happy to assist with your sore gym lower limbs. You’re in very good hands with Kirsty’s gentle care and attention.

David Majewski

D.Pod.M. (UWA) Grad Dip Astronomy   Dip Paramedical Sc  B.Sc

David grew up in Perth and was part of the first graduating cohort from the Doctor of Podiatric Medicine program at UWA.  David is a current PhD candidate at CURTIN. With proud Polish heritage he speaks the language fluently. He enjoys travelling, hiking, cooking and anything aviation related. With those skills he’s sure to find a place on the first manned flight to Mars! In the meantime, David is very happy to keep your feet healthy and pain free.

Podiatry Assistants (aka ‘Arch Angels’)

Dip Remedial Massage

Emma grew up in Darwin, so she is full of top end stories and tourist tips. Emma moved to Perth to complete her Diploma of Remedial Massage and enjoyed that so much, now she’s launched into physiotherapy as well! Emma loves all the opportunities Perth offers, including dance and art classes, but she still misses a special Darwin curry she hasn’t been able to find in Perth.

Hannah grew up in a small town two and a half hours east of Perth. She is currently completing a Bachelor of Science at Curtin University majoring in Nutrition so she’s keeping us all at our healthy eating best! In her downtime from work and study, Hannah loves to sew and makes a lot of her own clothes, the more colour the better!

Cert V Massage & Beauty Therapy

Cindy loves helping people and worked for many years as a beauty therapist. She lives with her husband Vince, children Tiana and Anson and their furry family including  Capri (a rescue dog) and Revs the German Shepherd. Cindy has recently realised her dream of having a home with enough open space to foster and rehabilitate rescue dogs, so soon the four legged members of her family will outnumber the two legged ones.

BSc Hons (Biology) Dip Prac Management , CPMAAPM

Fern looks after things behind the scenes at Feet First. She loves walking along the river or at the beach with one eyed Miles, the gypsy-pirate rescue dog.

How Would You Like to Join Our Team?

We’re all about improving lives through better foot health.

We’re growing steadily and we’ve just moved into a sparkling new practice so we have plenty of space for our growing team.

Our practitioners are high calibre, experienced and gentle folk who are supported in all their clinical endeavours by a skilled and energetic support team. Our podiatrists and support team work closely together so when we invite someone new to join our team we prefer folk who are looking for a secure, long-term commitment whose skills will grow and develop with the practice.

We’ve just moved into an amazing brand new practice with oodles of extra space for our growing team. If you are a polished professional with well developed clinical skills and a genuine enthusiasm for podiatry, you might be the special practitioner we are looking for.

Email your expression of interest to practice manager Fern: [email protected]  We look forward to hearing all about you and how you believe you will contribute to our team efforts and make a real difference to the health and well-being of your patients.
